Panorama – Bi-fold doors — This visualisation illustrates the type of system; the technical cross-section and the project specification determine the actual assembly.

Bi-fold doors

Bi-fold doors whose leaves fold together into a stack.

What to consider: The leaves fold into a stack; lift-and-slide and classic sliding systems open in other ways.

Bi-fold family · one system, several configurations

Panorama

Panorama is not a sliding door. Its leaves fold against each other into a stack, so once it is open almost the full width of the opening is left clear. That is why it is chosen when opening up the space completely matters more than the clean lines of a sliding door.

Panorama and Panorama i+ are two versions of the same system with different thermal performance. The opening direction, the number and arrangement of the leaves, the stacking side and the threshold are all confirmed for each opening.

Panorama

A thermally broken bi-fold door system whose leaves fold into a stack and clear a wide opening.

Why this profileA wide opening that folds into a stack

Choose the Panorama system when you want several leaves to stack at the side and clear almost the whole opening to the terrace, garden or conservatory. Space for the leaf stack has to be planned, and the folding direction decided in advance.

Configuration comes before the final choice

Direction, leaf stack and threshold determine the version

Panorama is one system, designed around how the opening will be used; the layouts shown are examples, and the final version depends on the dimensions and a structural check.

Technical system name

Panorama

Thermally broken bi-fold doors

The leaves run on a track and fold into a stack. The system allows inward or outward opening, infills of 16–50 mm and leaves weighing up to 100 kg, depending on the configuration.

View system

Folding direction

Opening inwards or outwards is chosen to suit the available space, the furniture, the facade and how people will step outside.

Stack and leaf layout

Layouts such as 2+1, 3+2 or 3+3 describe the arrangement of the leaves; the number of leaves, the stacking side and the traffic door are designed together.

Threshold and seals

A flush threshold with a brush seal and a threshold with full perimeter sealing do not serve the same purpose. Accessibility and weather protection have to be balanced.

Frequently asked questions

Before the final specification

What should you plan for when choosing bi-fold doors?

Bi-fold doors give you the widest possible opening, but they need room for the stacked leaves and careful planning of the opening direction.

How do PANORAMA doors open?

With the PANORAMA system, the leaves fold into a stack and clear almost the full width of the opening.

Do bi-fold doors work in the same way as lift-and-slide (HST) and conventional sliding systems?

The leaves fold into a stack; lift-and-slide and classic sliding systems open in other ways.

Send your plans for a precise specification

Sizes, glass, hardware, structural calculations, threshold and opening type are confirmed for each individual opening – only then can the system be tailored to your LUMORA project.
