Material and system
Timber, timber-aluminium, PVC and aluminium each have different characteristics, maintenance needs, details and finishing possibilities.
LUMORA · Windows
Material, glazing, hardware, opening method, dimensions and installation must work as one system for each specific opening and building.
Decision before product
A profile name alone does not explain how a window will perform. The same base system may use different glazing, spacers, hardware, dimensions, divisions and installation methods.
New construction and replacement of existing windows raise different questions. Replacement must also account for removal, the condition of the opening, reveal repairs, disposal, ventilation and the effects of increased airtightness.
Completed references
Photographs from the SAVOX archive show timber-aluminium windows on a completed building in Berlin. The final system, profile, glazing, colour and installation method are specified separately for each project.

Specification
Timber, timber-aluminium, PVC and aluminium each have different characteristics, maintenance needs, details and finishing possibilities.
The number of panes is not the only decision. Composition, safety, solar control, acoustic insulation, spacer, weight and compatibility with the sash also matter.
Sash width and height, fixed lights, structural checks and glass weight influence the choice of system and hardware.
The function of the room determines opening direction and method, ventilation, security, ergonomics and maintenance.
Colour, stain, aluminium cladding and internal and external sills must be coordinated with the façade and interior.
The window-to-wall junction must resolve position in the opening, fixing, air, moisture, thermal bridging and finishing work.
Before quotation
An opening schedule or approximate width and height measurements, with photographs of the existing condition for replacement work.
The building location, whether it is new construction or renovation, and the planned stage of façade and interior work.
Preferred material, colour, division, opening direction and method, or a request for LUMORA to propose the solution.
Requirements for glazing, safety, acoustics, solar control, privacy and accessibility.
Whether the quotation should include measurement, removal, disposal, installation, sills and reveal repairs.
Evidence before claim
The glazing value must not be presented as the value of the complete window. A technical claim must state whether it applies to the glass, frame or a complete reference configuration.
LUMORA publishes figures only with the relevant system, dimensions, glazing, calculation or test report and exact scope of application. The quotation confirms the configuration actually supplied for each opening.
